THE LOVERS (SQUARE)

The first thing to note about this drawing is the name itself, which I thought of before I even knew what I wanted it to look like. 'The Lovers' isn't just a piece about romantic love-- though that is one interpretation. Both of the people in the drawing have their faces obscured by birds. The birds are in flight, chaotic, to reflect on the often tangled nature of what love can mean for the person viewing it. The women featured are purposelly designed to mirror each other, though if they are a literal reflection of each other (meaning that 'The Lovers' would be a drawing about self love) or if they are similar because to Love something is to imitate it is again up to you, I just think it looks neat on my wall
